We’ve heard some horror stories lately about family treasures that have been taken to the dump or sold at tag sales simply because their owners didn’t think they’d be necessary. While many such items may NOT be important, many are. Often things that are pretty run-of-the-mill tell the most compelling stories.

Examples might be ledger books from old stores that don’t exist anymore, homemade tools, family scrapbooks, or photo albums.
Daily diaries can be especially informative about life in Kent–farm diaries. At first glance, these things may not seem valuable, but so much information that helps to tell the story of Kent can be gleaned from them.
